“She was tough in the best sense of the word. She’d taken blows, the disappointments, and had worked her way through them. Some people, he knew, would have buckled under, found a clutch, or given up. But she had carved a place for herself and made it work.” – Nora Roberts
Dear Twenty- Something,
Once upon a time, a friend told you she never knew anyone who gave 110% to every single thing that they did until she met you.
You pondered this for months, wondering if it was a blessing or a curse. Was it possible to give your all to everything without half- assing any of it?
But you started to realize that she was right. Something in the depths of your soul does not allow you to not give everything your all. No matter how tired you are, no matter how many things keep being added to your plate, you always manage to dig a little deeper and find strength from some unknown reserve.
For so many years you wondered if this would ever pay off. This constant cycle of not being able to give less than your best.
Don’t ever stop. Keep at it. Keep giving it your all. Learn how to take a step back from the activities that aren’t what you should be giving your all to at this current moment. But then jump back in to the rest with gusto.
Be the person you were created to be. Hard working. Tough as nails. A smile on your face.
Keep at it. Don’t ever give up. Keep your head held high. Write one more paper. Get dressed up for one more class. Stay up the extra hour. Get up on hour earlier.
You’ve got this. I believe in you.
